Job description
Context
The École Nationale d’Ingénieurs de Brest (ENIB), founded in 1961, operates under the Ministry of Higher Education. It is a member of the Institut Mines Télécom and the Alliance Universitaire de Bretagne. Located at the Brest-Iroise Technopole, it focuses on integrating ecological transition issues into its activities.
ENIB trains generalist engineers in electronics, computer science, and mechatronics over five years, with strong industry and research ties. It offers five master’s programs and two doctoral programs. The institution is affiliated with prominent research and innovation networks and will integrate into the Institut National Polytechnique de Bretagne in 2025.
Research Responsibilities
The candidate will join the Observations, Signal and Environment (OSE) team within the Lab-STICC research unit (https://labsticc.fr). Responsibilities include:
– Focusing on image processing and AI to study marine environments.
– Developing expertise in image/signal analysis, object detection, segmentation, and classification.
– Applying methodologies such as deep learning for underwater video imaging.
– Enhancing deep neural networks for deployment on low-resource embedded systems.
Collaboration with academic, industrial, and international partners is essential. The candidate will:
– Contribute to the ISblue Interdisciplinary Graduate School for the Blue Planet.
– Strengthen ties with initiatives like SEA-EU, Ocean Tech, and Campus Mondial de la Mer.
– Respond to national and European research funding calls.
– Publish in prominent journals and conferences.
Teaching Responsibilities
The teaching duties will span five years within the electronics department:
– Topics include analog/digital signal processing and image analysis.
– Emphasis on embedded electronics and artificial vision systems.
– Implementing innovative pedagogical approaches integrating ecological transitions.
– Mentoring students in internships and projects.
– Teaching in English is required.
