Work environment
The post-doctoral researcher will depend administratively from Laboratory of Geology at ENS. Work and supervising will be carried out jointly by ENS (J. Escartín) and IFREMER (M. Ferrera). The postdoctoral researcher will participate in the follow-up, development, and validation of and underwater LIDAR system within the EQUIPEX project ‘Deepsea’nnovation’, and will interact with other members of the project.
Mission summary
The postdoctoral researcher will a) integrate submarine LIDAR data with navigation data of underwater vehicles, b) evaluate and correct errors (drift, data fusion, etc.), c) analize the data acquired during tests and by prototypes of the underwater LIDAR, putting into place a procedure of validation and calibration of the LIDAR, and d) model and simulate a realistic generation of data to evaluate different scenarios and environments. The candidate will also integrate the ENS/IFREMER team to follow up the development of the LIDAR (in progress), the tests for validation, and its integration on the submarine vehicles.
